The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene lifted the beekeeping ban!

Bee hives now need to be registered with the DOH. Please see our RESOURCES page for more information.

Welcome to the New York City Beekeepers Association, a Hive for the Urban Beekeepers of Gotham City

We are a small group of beekeepers, bee enthusiasts, and honey lovers who live, work and pollinate in the greatest city in the world, and who happen to share a love for the humble honeybee and her delicious doings.

The mission of the NYCBA is to provide our membership with a medium for sharing knowledge and mutual interest in beekeeping, and to educate and promote the benefits of beekeeping to the world, in a forum of friendship and fun, and to do so safely and responsibly in an urban environment.

Whether you are a beekeeper with 10,000 colonies or you just like honey in your tea, you are welcome to join our hive.

Not yet a member? Please join our cluster and help us keep our queen warm, our larva fed, and our hive thriving. $20.00 for the year 2012 helps us maintain our hive (which in our case consists of web hosting, mailings, room rentals, and the cost of shared equipment). Become a member of the colony.
